Frequently asked questions

What is the 67-point grid?
It is the selection grid of the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Six factors are scored out of 100: languages (28), education (25), experience (15), age (12), arranged employment (10) and adaptability (10). You need at least 67 points to be eligible for Express Entry through this program.
What is the difference between the 67 points and the CRS score?
The 67 points decide whether you can enter the Express Entry pool as a federal skilled worker. The CRS score, out of 1,200, then ranks candidates in the pool and decides who gets an invitation.
What French level do I need?
At least NCLC 7 in all four skills of your first official language. Above that, each level earns points: 4 per skill at NCLC 7, 5 at NCLC 8 and 6 from NCLC 9.
How much money do I need to show?
CAD 15,263 for a single person, CAD 28,362 for a family of four, and CAD 4,112 for each member beyond seven (IRCC amounts in effect since July 7, 2025). You are exempt if you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer.
Does a job offer still count?
Yes for the 67-point grid: a valid job offer is worth 10 points, plus 5 adaptability points. However, it no longer gives CRS points since March 2025.
